The Southern 7 Health Department MOUNDS, Ill. — The Southern 7 Health Department has announced its March schedule for the Wellness on Wheels Van Clinics.According to S7, free services available on the WOW Van include NARCAN training, blood pressure check, home colorectal cancer tests (FIT), medication disposal packets, COVID test kits, and condoms. Free services are funded through a grant from the Illinois Department of Public Health. Charged services available include:Blood lead, hemoglobin and cholesterol screeningsSTD tests (including chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis), HIV, pregnancy, and TB skin testsTD/Tdap shots for adultsWell Water testsHereditary Genetic Cancer TestingCharged services, excluding a Well Water test, require a health insurance card. According to S7, all services — both free and charged — will be offered while available on the day of service. No appointment is needed for services, walk-ins are welcome.Flu shots will be provided to patients based on vaccine availability the day of the clinic and while supplies last — those requesting a COVID booster should contact their local Southern 7 public health clinic for details. Southern 7 Health Department The Wellness on Wheels van will provide services at the following locations in March:March 5 — Dollar General Store, Olive Branch — from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 3 p.m.March 12 — Dollar General Store, Cobden — from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 3 p.m.March 19 — Shawnee Comm. College Massac County Ext. Ctr., Metropolis — from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 3:30 p.m.March 26 — Village of Olmsted City Hall, Olmsted — from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.March 26 — Shawnee Comm. College Main Campus, Ullin — from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.If you can't make it to the WOW Van's stops, the department also offers many of these services at each of its seven branches in Alexander, Hardin, Johnson, Massac, Pope, Pulaski and Union Counties.
