Dec 18, 2019 8:08 PM in response to Parkland_ Hello Parkland_,Thanks for asking the Apple Support Communities for help with Apple Business Manager.I was able to find this info online, this article states: Use Device Enrollment - Apple Support"Add devices manuallyTo add iOS devices that you didn’t purchase to Device Enrollment, like a donated iPad, learn how to manually add iOS devices in Apple Configurator 2. After you manually add a device, assign the device to an MDM server in Apple Business Manager or assign the device to an MDM server in Apple School Manager."And that above info leads to: Assign devices added from Apple Configurator 2 to Apple Business Manager - Apple Support"After a device is added by Apple Configurator 2The device is placed into a group named “Devices added by Apple Configurator 2” in the Devices section in Apple Business Manager. You can then assign the device to one of your MDM servers. After assigning a device to your MDM server, any settings assigned by Apple Configurator 2 are no longer used for enrollment.Important: You may need to refresh the list of devices in your MDM solution before these newly added devices appear."You should be able to see your list of devices there, but the article does not mention what options you have from there. Identity." Each supervision identity has its own security certificate. If you'll just be working with your supervised device on your single Mac, you don't need to worry about this--it'll just work with your Mac. Other Macs won't be able to manage your device unless you export the supervision identity to them. You'll now be able to choose which steps appear during the first-time setup assistant on your supervised device. This allows organizations to customize the setup process for their users. For example, an organization could define these settings in a configuration profile and then hide the associated screens from the first-time setup process. Assuming you just want to supervise your own device, you can just leave "Show all steps" enabled to not adjust the first-time setup process. Click the "Prepare" button and Apple Configurator will supervise your device. Warning: Apple Configurator will wipe your device after you click "Prepare"! Apple Configurator will now go through the process of wiping your device, setting it up, and supervising it. When it's done, you can connect your device to your Mac with a USB cable and manage it from Apple Configurator, creating configuration profiles and applying them--even if they require a supervised device. This means you can now hide those incldued apps, enable an always-on VPN, and change other powerful settings. If you've supervised a device with Apple Configurator and you want to remove that supervision, you can just reset the device to its factory default settings. This will remove the "supervision" on the device and it'll be back to normal. To prevent users from removing supervision, you can use configuration profiles to lock down the iPhone or iPad and disable access to the options on the "Reset" screen in Settings.

It by opening the Settings app and going to General > Accessibility > Guided Access. Enable the "Guided Access" slider here. Tap "Passcode Settings" to set a PIN for guided access and choose whether or not you can exit Guided Access with Touch ID, if your iPad has a Touch ID sensor. You can use the same PIN you use to unlock the iPad or a different one. Next, launch the app you'd like to lock your iPad to. Quickly press the "Home" button three times in a row. The Guided Access screen will appear, and you can use the options here to configure it. By default, the touch screen is enabled and the Sleep/Wake button is disabled. However, you can disable the touch screen and allow people to use the Sleep/Wake button, if you like. Tap "Start" in the top-right corner of your screen when you're ready. While in Guided Access mode, the iPad's screen won't turn off--it'll remain on and unlocked for anyone to use it. You may want to plug the iPad in if you intend on leaving it on. You could also choose to enable the Sleep/Wake button on the Guided Access screen. This will allow anyone to turn off the iPad's screen. Anyone can turn it on and they'll be taken to the app in Guided Access mode without having to enter a PIN. Single App Mode: The Best Solution Single App Mode requires you put your iPad into Supervised Mode, so it's a bit more work to set up. Single App Mode can also be remotely enabled via a mobile device management (MDM) server if your organization uses one to manage your tablets. If you just need a temporary kiosk and don't want to bother with this, use the above solution. For a more permanent kiosk, this is ideal. To do this without a mobile device management server, you'll first need to download and install Apple Configurator from Apple and use it to place your iPad into Supervised Mode. You can then use Apple Configurator to enable Single App Mode. This can only be done on a Mac, as Apple Configurator only runs on Macs. With your iPad in Supervised Mode and connected to your Mac via a USB cable, open the Apple Configurator application and select the connected device. Click the "Actions" menu, point to "Advanced," and select "Start Single App Mode." You'll. If the Configurator is able to connect to our licensing server then you will be able to complete the activation process using only the wizard launched from the Configurator's License menu. When the Configurator is unable to contact the licensing server, whether due to an issue with a firewall or proxy server or the simple lack of an Internet connection, the wizard will create a file that you must upload to the license server using a web browser. The browser is not required to be on the same computer where Robo-FTP is installed. If the uploaded file can be processed automatically then the site key for activation will be displayed in the web browser. Follow the instructions to copy this 24-digit code into the license wizard to complete the activation. Some scenarios require intervention by members of the Registration Team. Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question. Moving Apple Configurator 2 Blueprints from one Mac to another Mac Firstly, I have googled this and everyone refers to this file address: ~/Library/Group Containers/K36BKF7T3D.group.com.apple.configurator/ My problem is is that this location does not exist. Group Containers folder is nowhere to be found on the Mac server. I am not super familiar with this OS so if its something like Windows' hidden folders, I'd like to know how to enable it so I can find the file if Mac has something similar. So far, the only Google results I have found refer to the the above file address, I haven't found anything else that could possibly refer to another location where you can find the blueprints. However, we have about 10 blueprints that have been on the server for a long time through Apple Configurator 2. They have been backed up and the server has been restarted multiple times since the backups. Everywhere I have read about moving blueprint files from one Mac to another- neither locations have this "Group Container" or a "Container" folder. Both Macs are running on Mojave. Both have Apple Configurator 2. Only one of them has blueprints that I am hoping to move from the Mac server to a Mac laptop for convenience. These blueprints in question have been on our server for several months and I backed up the files this morning and still no location appears. If anybody else can help me out- I'd appreciate it. Posted on Oct 4, 2018 12:22 PM Posted on Oct 5, 2018 8:11 AM I have found a solutionThe Group Containers folder is indeed the address I listed above which as a reminder, is:~/Library/Group Containers/K36BKF7T3D.group.com.apple.configurator/The Group Container folder however, much like Windows OS folders running critical elements- is hidden. To find the group container folder, you need to open up file explorer and then in the upper left hand corner you go to Go, then Go to folder... and you can copy/paste or type in ~/Library/Group Containers and it will take you right to the folder. You will find the K36B.... folder pretty quick from there on.People have also mentioned making this folder unhidden through the terminal, but the way mentioned above is much quicker and unless you plan on going to the Group Container folder often- making it.
